travel nurse jobs in the northeast

The Northeastern region of the United States is home to beautiful landscapes, scenic outdoor activities, historical landmarks and museums, and plenty of nightlife and delicious fanfare. The Northeast also houses some of the largest and most exciting metropolitan cities in the nation, including New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Pittsburgh, and Newark. We’ve highlighted six destinations everyone should discover when visiting the Northeast.

1. Hit the Beach in Nantucket Island

Nantucket, Massachusetts.

This cozy island located off the coast of Cape Cod is a favorite summer destination for travelers. Nantucket has 82 miles of coastline, so if you love the beach, this is the place for you. Visit local restaurants for fresh cuisine, explore their museums, and shop in unique boutique stores.  Finally, don’t forget to check out at least one of their famous lighthouses!

2. Discover the City of Boston

If you’re an art lover, pop into the Museum of Fine Art, known for its giant gallery of impressive art. For sports fans, there’s no shortage of successful professional sports teams to cheer on, including the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, the Boston Celtics, and more.

3. Explore the Outdoors in the Adirondacks

Located in northeastern New York State, Adirondack Park is the first and largest park protected by the government in the nation. For those who love the outdoors, ski and hike your way through the Adirondack mountains. Take a canoe or kayak for a day, go island camping, and view the majestic waterfalls. For a real adventure, you can even go rock and ice climbing or experience the scenery in a different way on the Wild Walk trail in the spring and summer months.

4. Visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

Free guided tours are offered on the island by park rangers. Each ferry ticket also includes an audio tour to the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration for visitors to discover the stories of the 12 million immigrants who entered the U.S. through Ellis Island.

5. Walk the Promenade in Cape May

Known as the Queen of the Seaside Resorts, this New Jersey jewel has even been declared a National Historic Landmark. Not only does this walkable seashore town have beautiful beaches, but they also offer history and art museums and a whale and dolphin watching tour! After a day of walking the promenade and visiting beaches, head to the Cape May Day Spa for some pampering before checking out one of their wineries and enjoying dinner at an oceanfront restaurant.
