What Do You Love—or Get Most Excited About—In Recruitment?
I love helping a hospital fill a very specific need. Going on the hunt to find a nurse who didn’t know the job existed and finding a perfect match for both parties is rewarding. Some of the most random placements ended up with my clinician moving to a new city, starting a family, etc. The whole process is really cool to see.
Do You Have Any Personal Connections to Nursing or Allied Health?
Most people in my life are nurses. I was a pre-med major in college at a huge nursing school, so I met a lot of my friends in the nursing pre-req courses. I eventually tutored at the college of nursing and got a job at a hospital to earn patient hours before switching gears in my career plans. I have a lot of nurses in my family, too, so it’s something I’ve always been comfortable with. The medical jargon, the stresses of the nursing field, and really just how much dedication it takes to be an RN.
What Does the Nursing/Allied Industry Mean to You?
I have a huge respect for the nursing field, and I always have. I ruled out nursing as a career early on because, while working at the hospital, I saw how hard it is. They aren’t kidding when they say it takes a special person to be a nurse. I have gratitude for everyone on my team.
Nurse Appreciation Stories and Special Shout-Outs:
I would definitely shout out my aunt Debbie. She taught me early on that the one thing no one can take from you is your education. A lot of nurses on my team remind me of her. The absolute drive, independence, and resilience it takes not only to be a nurse, but a traveling nurse is huge.
Personal Background:
I have always loved basketball; played it my whole life! When I’m not working, you can find me lifting, watching a thriller movie, crafting a cocktail, or trying something new. I’m very competitive, so I love the challenge of picking up a new hobby. Currently it’s golf!
