About Kate
Professional Background:
I had worked in Hospitality for over a decade before transitioning to recruiting. I worked in high-volume restaurants in big cities like Los Angeles and New York City and most recently at locally renowned Petit & Keet here in Little Rock, AR. I made the move from server to upper management under the wings of local Restaurateurs Jim Keet & Brent Lenners. Considering my service-forward mindset ingrained from early on and my experience as Acting General Manager, I have learned so many skills useful in recruiting. Onboarding, payroll, staffing, scheduling, invoicing, bank reconciliation, event and catering planning and execution, as well as daily operations, guest experiences, and the general chaos and complexity of keeping my front-of-house staff motivated and cared for, among others, were all my responsibilities as of late. I give credit for my success to God and to incredible mentors like Jim and Brent for their time and dedication to building and believing in me.
What Do You Love—or Get Most Excited About—In Recruitment?
I love being my travelers’ go-to girl! Making their lives easier, taking whatever I can off their very full plates, and building genuine connections is the most rewarding part of this career for me. These aren’t just jobs for my folks; they’re 8+ weeks of their lives, and they’ve entrusted me with guiding and supporting them.
Do You Have Any Personal Connections to Nursing or Allied Health?
My late husband’s side of the family includes healthcare professionals, including a Neonatal Surgeon, an ENT M.D., and an OR tech. My son had a speech delay, and early intervention by an SLP was crucial in improving his quality of life and confidence in communication. I admire and respect all our healthcare workers and commend their commitment to patient care above all else.
What Does the Nursing/Allied Industry Mean to You?
The allied healthcare industry deserves more recognition and support! My travelers are often dealing with patients who are having the worst days of their lives. It takes a certain type of strength and resilience to keep showing up day after day to produce high-quality images and deliver therapies to the most vulnerable and likely suffering members of our communities. I am humbled to serve in a small but meaningful way.
Personal Background:
I’m a Believer, crazy plant lady, and mother living in Little Rock, AR. I grew up in the Catskills of New York, went to College at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, and somehow ended up in Arkansas, where I’ve been for 8 years. I am raising a 7-year-old boy and am very grateful for a career that allows me to spend so much time with him.
