Travel Nurse Across America Gives Back to the Community
LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (December 9, 2013) – Travel Nurse Across America, a Little Rock, Arkansas-based healthcare staffing agency is supporting two local charities this holiday season as part of their ongoing mission to give back to the community.
“As an organization, we are blessed with growth and success. We feel it’s both our responsibility and our privilege to assist those in need, especially during the holiday season,” said Gene Scott, President, and CEO of Travel Nurse Across America. “Our employees are involved in our charitable efforts and it warms all of our hearts to be able to help.”
For Thanksgiving, Travel Nurse Across America’s holiday donations provided enough food to feed 500 people at The Compassion Center, the largest homeless shelter in central Arkansas. Managed by William and Rosemary Holloway, The Compassion Center is a Christian-based organization dedicated to feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless while sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. “We will also be providing enough food to serve 600 people for Christmas dinner for this worthy and cherished organization,” said Scott.
Travel Nurse Across American also supports Our House, a shelter in Little Rock that provides the working homeless – individuals and families – with shelter, housing, job training, education, financial training, childcare, and summer youth programs to equip them with the skills needed to be successful in the workforce, in the community, and with their own families.
Our House has an “Adopt a Family” program where individuals, church groups, and companies commit to providing basic needs and special wants specified by each family, including Christmas presents for the children. “This year, our dedicated employees donated money toward this effort and we matched those donations twice over,” says Scott. “We raised enough money to adopt six families for Christmas.” Travel Nurse across America staff will shop for gifts and deliver them to Our House in plenty of time for their adopted families to enjoy a bountiful holiday together.
