Travel Nurse Stories: Flexibility Made My Dreams Reality

travel nurse stories

Meet Nathaniel Delbel, RN

Hello, my name is Nathaniel Delbel. I grew up in the small town of Skaneateles, New York. I attended Cayuga College for my nursing degree and then went on for a bachelor’s at Plattsburgh State University, which is also in New York. I am currently taking online classes to obtain my master’s degree. I have been traveling with Travel Nurse Across America for three years now. I have taken assignments in Plattsburgh, New York; Tacoma, Washington; and Tucson, Arizona. I am currently on assignment in Boston Massachusetts. And of course, I expect to have many more exciting adventures with Travel Nurse Across America!

The ability to live my life the way I want to is one of my favorite things about being a travel nurse. For example, I was able to take five months off in the summer of 2005 and hike the Appalachian Trail. It was something I had wanted to do for several years, and being a traveler finally gave me the flexibility to make it a reality. In addition to hiking the Appalachian Trail, I have taken up SCUBA diving, and have even learned how to skydive.

I also love the friendships that I have made and maintained as a traveler. I now have friends all over the country! It is a benefit that isn’t advertised in any brochure, but to me, it is one of the most valuable perks of all when it comes to being a travel nurse!

TNAA Has Been the Best

I have enjoyed working with Travel Nurse Across America. The staff has been very supportive and has worked very hard to make my traveling experience the best anywhere. I would especially like to thank Jody Tutt, my current recruiter, for everything he has done for me. He has kept me motivated and opened doors to many new locations. All in all, traveling with Travel Nurse Across America has been the best job I could ever have! I look forward to having many more traveling experiences!
